So very happy with this trout bowl. So many hours into creating and painting it. The bottom of the bowl I painted the wildflower meadow that the stream runs through and the mountains one can view from the stream. Yes, the location is in the Bighorn Mountains on the West side. Oh the brooks and rainbows within the stream there are just beautiful to watch even if they ignore your fly. Really is fly fishing solely about catching fish or just being in nature??? The rim of the bowl was painted with a red gold Coyote glaze that liked to go for marathon runs when it’s next to other glazes, but it shows not to in this firing. The pool itself and the trout were off paint it with underglazes where I can treat them like watercolors and then cover it with a clear glaze. Around that is Amaco’s Arctic blue - in my opinion is great for the illusion of water with it breaking blues to greens. The bowls were created from a slab of hand rolled clay then over time shaped into the two bowls with “rocks” added around the small pocket pool. In all my years of painting trout, well this one is my favorite. All the glazes fired so beautifully well.

Size: Roughly 12” diameter and stands 4” tall.
