This is a slab created mug which means I hand rolled the clay into a slab then cut out the wall of the mug. Then I designed the wall with a roller print and stamps to embed them into the clay. After drying to leather hardness I pulled the handle and created the thumb button. After the bisque firing I hand painted the raft of otters floating in the seaweed. On the bottoms I used a rubber cast of a seas otter to stamp into the clay. The rim and inside the mug is a indigo blue glaze with some oatmeal on the rim.
