This is a slab created mug which means I hand rolled the clay into a slab then cut out the wall of the mug. Then I designed the wall with a roller print and stamps to embed them into the clay. After drying to leather hardness pulled the handle and created the thumb button. After the bisque firing I scrubbed the outside wall of the mug with an underglaze after I hand printed the Northern lights with their reflections on the open Arctic Ocean with the two polar bears watching the lights dance across the night sky. The inside of the mug along with the handle and rim was hand painted with a glaze a Smokey Merlot glaze with a honey flux on the rim.
Mug is microwave and dishwasher safe.
