This tray depicts one of my favorite lakes in the Bighorns where I like to fly fish. The trout is carved into the clay and finished with being hand painted with underglazes. I use underglazes to finish the trout , due to you can paint with them like watercolors. Once the trout is painted I paint a clear glaze over it. The landscape of the tray is carved into the clay and hand painted with seven different glazes.
I’ve written on the tray “ I cast a line to free my mind.” Cause while fly fishing one is too busy studying the water, or hatch to really busy your mind with anything else.
The tray measures 10.5 inches x 5.5 inches.
The tray is food, microwave, and dishwasher safe.

I cast a line to free my mind.
