Doily grizzly bear bowl was created from a hand rolled slab of blended clay bodies. A hand made doily that was created by my father‘s cousin many years ago was pressed within both sides of the clay (the antique doily was not harmed only got a bit dirty). Then the clay was formed into a bowl shape. In the center I pressed one of my bisque, grizzly bear stamps. After the bisque firing I scrubbed the bottom of the bowl with a brown underglaze, so the doily would really show. The grizzly I glazed with a copper colored glaze along with the rim. Followed by four more rings of glazes to the center. On the outside of the bowl it was glazed with three of the same glazes —- except the one that likes to occasionally go for a marathon run.
